Ny and her husband are farmers, but do not work anymore due to their age. About five years ago, Ny developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her photophobia, itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going places on her own.
When Ny learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours with her niece seeking treatment. On January 4th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Ny said, “I hope after surgery I can see better so I can join ceremonies again and take care of myself and my family better.”
