Thy is a 57-year-old married woman from Cambodia who has three sons and three daughters. In her free time, Thy likes to cook for her family and feed the pigs.
Thy fell in October and fractured her right patella. She went to Thailand where doctors performed an open reduction and internal fixation procedure, stabilizing the fracture with hardware in order to promote healing. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $214 to fund hardware removal surgery for Thy. The procedure is scheduled to take place on June 29 and, once completed, will hopefully allow Thy to walk comfortably again.

Thy underwent hardware removal surgery.
Thy’s treatment for her right patella went well. Following the procedure, she was given pain medication and antibiotics to take for two weeks. She had physiotherapy at CSC before being discharged. Thy returned to CSC for a follow-up procedure. She does not experience any pain.
Thy says, “I can walk better and I don’t feel pain. Thanks to all of the staff and all of the donors for the help.”
