Kyomukama is a mother of six and she is working hard to support them in their school and higher education. Her husband is a truck driver and transports goods across different districts in Uganda when he can get the work. They own a four-room permanent house for shelter. She shared that during her free time, she enjoys taking care of her family.
Ten years ago Kyomukama began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty breathing and frequent headaches. She was diagnosed with a nodular thyroid. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kyomukama receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on December 7th at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $293, and Kyomukama and her family need your support.
Kyomukama told us, “I pray that I may be considered for treatment. After treatment, I believe I will be able to resume my usual farming duties and be able to further support my family.”
