Chanin is a happy little boy who is constantly surrounded by his many friends. He loves playing marbles, but he sometimes has a hard time because he was born with bilateral cataracts that blur and distort his vision. If left uncorrected, doctors at Children’s Surgical Centre say Chanin will likely go blind.
Chanin lives with his family in a rural area about three hours from Cambodia’s capital city where the average per capita income is less than $2 a day. Chanin’s family is very supportive, but they cannot afford to pay for their son’s care. Chanin’s father is a motorbike taxi driver, who heard about the medical services available at CSC from one of his clients, and his mother works in a clothing factory.
We hope to help them out and raise the $300 needed to cover the cost of Chanin’s cataract surgery.
