Lawrence is a 12-year-old boy and the oldest of three children in his family. Lawrence’s mother sells vegetables to provide for her three children, and his parents separated a few years ago due to family issues. His family shared that since then, his father does not support them in any way.
Lawrence was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Lawrence will be at increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future.
Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on April 6th. Lawrence will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). AMH is requesting $561 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
Lawrence’s mother shared, “I feel so bad that I ignored my son’s complaints about his health. I’m relieved to hear that my son can get treated.”
