Meet Kasaija, a 49-year-old father of six from Uganda. Kasaija and his wife work hard as a street vendor and farmer, respectively, to support their family.
Kasaija shares with our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), that he developed a painful swelling near his lower abdominal region/groin about three years ago. As Kasaija was incorrectly diagnosed with having a bladder problem, the medication he received did not relieve him of his painful symptoms. Since March of this year, the pain has become so severe that Kasaija is no longer able to work.
Doctors at AMHF have now diagnosed Kasaija with a right inguinal hernia and have advised that he needs surgery to repair it. Kasaija will undergo surgery on July 19. Kasaija needs our help to cover his $249 medical bill, which includes his surgery, hospital stay, and medication.
“After my surgery, I wish to resume working,” says Kasaija.
