Koem Leng is a 77-year-old retired farmer from Cambodia who is married and has four daughters and three sons. In her free time, Koem Leng likes to clean around her home, plant vegetables, and look after her granddaughter.
About two years ago, Koem Leng developed a basal cell carcinoma, a cancer arising in the epithelial skin tissue, on her left cheek. The skin growth is now approximately three centimeters by three centimeters in size, and it continues to grow, causing Koem Leng great discomfort.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $606 to fund the removal of the carcinoma. The procedure is scheduled to take place on June 29 and, once completed, will hopefully minimize the risk of cancer metastasis and allow Koem Leng to live more comfortably and confidently.
