Godwin is a three-year-old boy from Uganda. He lives with his mother and father, Vastina and Benson, and his older sister. His mother and father are subsistence farmers who grow food for the family, including potatoes, cassava, and beans. Benson works as a night guard at the local tea factory.
Godwin likes to play with his older sister and other children in the village. He likes digging in the sand and making things with sand and water. He is also learning to kick the soccer ball with other children.
Godwin has been sick for several months, but his mother did not know what was wrong. After bringing him to the hospital, she learned he has severe malnutrition. He will need to be treated with therapeutic foods to prevent long-term effects.
On March 27, Godwin will begin treatment for malnutrition provided by our medical partner’s care center, Bwindi Community Hospital. Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting $316 to fund Godwin’s treatment. Godwin’s family has raised $1 to contribute to his treatment.
Godwin’s mother shares, “I have much hope that Godwin will get well, and I thank the donors for helping us and supporting Godwin. I will pray for blessings for the donors.”
