Hellenah is a 42-year-old woman who is married with three children and proudly shared that they are all in primary and secondary school. Alice and her husband work as farmers, and they also volunteer together at their local church.
About eight years ago, Hellenah began to experience troubling symptoms, including neck swelling, fatigue, and difficulty breathing and swallowing. Upon review, doctors diagnosed her condition as a bilateral thyroid cystic goiter. She will need to undergo surgery to prevent her symptoms from worsening.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Hellenah finally heal. On February 21st, she will undergo a thyroidectomy, in which surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. AMH is requesting $252 to help fund this procedure.
Hellenah shared, “This condition is worsening each day, and it is becoming intolerable. I fear that this might kill me one day. Through your support, I hope to be relieved of this condition and live a better life.”
