Happy is a 21-year-old mechanic from Uganda. He has two siblings, one sister and one brother, whom he helps support.
Happy was born with a swelling in a sensitive area. He was not in pain, so he did not seek treatment. Three years ago, however, Happy began to experience great discomfort.
“I was shy to talk about my condition until I grew older,” he says.
Visiting a health center, Happy was advised to seek care at a hospital. However, he knew he could not afford to do so. As the swelling continued to increase in size, Happy’s discomfort grew. A friend suggested he visit our medical partner’s care center, Holy Family Virika Hospital. He was diagnosed with a right congenital hydrocele, a buildup of fluid.
Happy is scheduled to undergo repair surgery on December 14. Our medical partner is requesting $185 to fund his procedure.
