Nabaasa is a pregnant mother who came to our medical partner’s care center, Nyakibale Hospital, for her prenatal checkups. She has a history of two previous c-sections, with her previous delivery unfortunately resulting in fetal death. Thus, doctors recommend for Nabaasa to receive a C-Section procedure to prevent complications during her delivery.
Prior to the pandemic, Nabaasa was a trained teacher at a private school but has since lost her job. Together with her husband, who is a bricklayer, Nabaasa has been working hard to make ends meet by making homemade cakes. They currently live in a single-roomed rental house. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $252 to fund a safe C-Section delivery for Nabaasa.
Nabaasa wishes to have another child, “I will be glad to deliver a live baby and will name her Precious this time cause my last experience was a tragedy. I pray that the surgery goes on well. I will continue with my baker business and make it even bigger for production in the future.”
