When 13-year-old Piseth is not in school with his fourth grade classmates, he enjoys reading books and playing games with his older brother and sister in Cambodia.
About five years, ago Piseth noticed a mass appear behind his right ear. Over the years, it has grown in size and causes him pain. To finally receive treatment for the mass, Piseth has traveled two hours to reach our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for treatment.
For $99, surgeons will perform an excision surgery to remove the mass behind his ear. Once it is fully healed, Piseth will no longer have to deal with the pain and discomfort that it causes.
“I hope after the operation my pain stops,” Piseth says. “When I am older I want to be a doctor.”

Piseth received a pain-relieving mass excision surgery.
After five years of increasing pain due to a growing mass behind his right ear, Piseth has finally undergone a successful excision surgery. Doctors removed the mass, relieving the pressure that caused discomfort. Though he still feels a mild ache on the wound, once it heals he should experience no more pain, as he is expected to make a full recovery with no further complications.
Piseth is eager to return to school where he is in fourth grade. His mother, who took him to the clinic, was relieved he could have the surgery and said, “I am so happy my son is doing better and has good health.” Now, with his pain gone, Piseth can return to his studies to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.
