Asiimwe is 51 years old, married, and the father of two boys. His wife is a farmer and Asiimwe is a fisherman, fishing on the shores of Lake Albert.
In 2015, Asiimwe developed a swelling on his scrotum that grew and became painful over time. The swelling was later diagnosed as a hydrocele, which is the buildup of fluid around the testes, and he was recommended to undergo surgery.
Due to fluctuations in the fishing industry, Asiimwe is not able to fund his neccessary surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $185 to support Asiimwe’s corrective surgery, which is scheduled for June 28.
After his recovery, Asiimwe will be able to resume his daily activities free of pain. “After surgery I will continue with fishing,” he says.
