Chhorn is a grandmother from Cambodia. She has seven children and eleven grandchildren. She enjoys reading about Buddha and spending time with her family.
Five months ago, Chhorn developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Chhorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 13, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
Her daughter says, “My family and I worry about my mom’s vision. She can’t see very well. We hope surgery can improve her vision and she can return home soon.”
