When Doung was 12-years-old, he was burned in a cooking fire. Now, at 27, Doung still has limited mobility from the burn. His injury keeps him from working and playing volleyball, his favorite sport.
The oldest of five brothers and sisters, Doung lives with his family in Cambodia. He needs burn contracture surgery and skin grafts to heal the extensive burn damage on his arm.
The surgery costs $400, and would give Doung more mobility than he’s had in the 15-years since he was injured. The surgery would let Doung get back to work, and he’d be able to play volleyball better than ever!

Doung received contracture release surgery and skin grafting to heal burns on his arm.
Although it took Doung a little while to return to the hospital for a followup, we finally heard back from him and he’s doing great! His skin grafts have healed and his doctors saw great improvement in his mobility. Doung said he’s doing well and is having a much easier time doing every day tasks! Thanks to your support, Doung is able to play volleyball again!
