Chantha is a 61-year-old housewife with two children and four grandchildren. In her free time, she likes to listen to monks pray on the radio and visit her relatives.
Chantha developed a cataract in each eye about two years ago. Due to her blurred vision, it is difficult for Chantha to see clearly, do any type of work, or go anywhere without assistance.
Chantha traveled for two hours with her sister to reach our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, for treatment.
On April 20, Chantha will undergo a phacoemulsification procedure followed by an intraocular lens implant.
With $292, we can help Chantha to see clearly again.

Chantha underwent cataract surgery.
Her eye cataract was successfully removed from her left eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. She will return soon for the same surgery on her right eye.
Chantha says, “I am very happy that I can see clearly again. I can easily cook for my family and do housework. I can go anywhere by myself without needing to bother another person to take care of me.”
