Touch is a corn farmer from Cambodia. She has three sons, four daughters, and eleven grandchildren. She enjoys listening to monks pray on the radio.
Five months ago, Touch developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her partial blindness and a cloudy lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Touch learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for six hours seeking treatment. On April 25, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see everything clearly again so I can help my family to do work at home and I can lead an independent life.”
