Sokheng is a 31-year-old woman from Cambodia who works as a factory worker and as a farmer. She is married and has two daughters. In her free time, Sokheng looks after her children, cooks, and washes clothes.
In November, Sokheng was in a motor vehicle accident and fractured her right tibia. Orthopedic surgeons performed an open reduction and internal fixation procedure, stabilizing the fracture with hardware in order to promote healing. Walking is now painful for Sokheng, and surgical removal of the hardware is needed in order to restore her comfort.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $214 to fund the removal of the hardware from Sokheng’s leg. The procedure is scheduled to take place on June 30 and, once completed, will hopefully help her to walk comfortably again.
