Kirungi is a 29-year-old mother from Uganda. She completed secondary school class four and did not proceed with her education due to limited financial support from her parents. Her firstborn is now 10-year-old fifth grader, while her second child is in pre-school. During her free time, she enjoys caring for her children.
Kirungi is currently expecting her third child. Because of how her previous births went, her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and baby.
Unfortunately, this procedure is costly for Kirungi and her family. She is a housewife, and her husband is a casual laborer in one of the match stick making factories in Kabale District. Together, they own a four-room semi-permanent house for shelter. They earn a limited income for their family and currently cannot afford the cost of her procedure.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kirungi undergo a C-section on November 13th. This procedure will cost $207, and Kirungi needs your support in funding this surgery.
Kirungi shared, “I hope and pray for a successful surgery. I plan to start farming rather than remaining a housewife. I wish to be able to support my husband in taking care of our family.”
