Mugume is a child from Uganda. He is the younger of two boys. Mugume loves eating rice and fried eggs. His parents are farmers.
For one year, Mugume has had a right inguinal hernia. The hernia keeps increasing in size and causing him discomfort. Fortunately, on March 7, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Mugume’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
His father says, “After surgery we shall take our son for a thanksgiving mass in church.’”

Mugume underwent hernia repair surgery.
His hernia treatment was successful. He will no longer experience pain and will have improved quality of life. He is no longer at risk of the hernia twisting or blocking.
His mother says, “Mugume is now much better. I have high hopes that he is going to recover quickly. I am excited that when his time to start school comes he will study when he is well without anything disturbing his education and his health.”
