Sokly is a 41-year-old wife and mother who has two sons and two daughters. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is to watch Khmer and Thai movies on TV.
Two years ago, Sokly developed a cataract in each eye, which caused her to have pain in both eyes, as well as blurred vision. Due to her cataracts, it is difficult for her to see clearly, work, or go outside by herself safely.
Sokly learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from another person in her village. Sokly then traveled for three hours with her husband to visit CSC for treatment.
Sokly will undergo a phacoemulsification cataract procedure and intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly again and resume her normal work in and outside the house. Our medical partner is requesting $292 to fund this treatment, which will include surgical equipment, medication, and physician consultations.
