Hai is a 35-year-old farmer who is married with one son and one daughter. He likes to watch TV, read magazines, and play tennis in the evenings in his free time. Hai heard about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from his neighbor. He traveled for four hours with his wife to reach CSC for treatment.
Hai was in a motor vehicle accident on April 1, 2016, causing a fracture of his right tibia and a hip dislocation on the right side. He went to a hospital in Phnom Penh, and doctors performed ORIF procedures, fixing hardware to heal his fracture and dislocation. He first came to CSC on July 13, and doctors removed the hardware from his right hip. Hai now returns to CSC because he experiences pain and has difficulty walking.
On August 1, Hai will undergo surgery at CSC’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. Surgeons at CSC will perform a hemiarthroplasty procedure, replacing one half of the hip joint with a prosthetic while leaving the other half intact, to help Hai walk easily again. Our medical partner, CSC, is requesting $497 to fund his care.
