Kyohirwe is a farmer from Uganda. She is a widow and a mother to two children. Her son dropped out of school because she was unable to pay for his school fees and he now works at construction sites. She is still struggling to pay for her daughter’s education who is now in fourth grade. Kyohirwe lost her husband five years ago and she has been able to raise her children with the support of her in-laws. She earns a living from small-scale farming and often does manual labour jobs in other people’s gardens to earn a living as well.
Kyohirwe presented with a painful breast lump two years ago. She feels discomfort and numbness in the area and is afraid that the mass will grow bigger.
Kyohirwe traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On July 14th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Kyohirwe needs help to raise $196 to fund this procedure.
Kyohirwe shared, “I hope to recover from this painful condition and have a new life. After my surgery, I hope to resume farming once I have recovered.”
