Suzanne is three years old and lives in Carrefour, a suburb of Port-au-Prince, with her parents. She is their only child. Her father is an auto mechanic. Suzanne enjoys playing with the other children in her neighborhood and going to church with her parents.
Suzanne was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a heart condition involving several related defects, including a hole between two chambers of the heart and a muscular blockage in one of the heart’s valves. As a result, not enough oxygen is delivered to her body, leaving her sickly and weak.
Suzanne will fly to the Cayman Islands to receive treatment. On May 12, she will undergo cardiac surgery. Her family needs help to fund the cost of travel. Our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,343.
Her mother says, “The chance to have this surgery is a dream come true for us. Thank you everyone!”
