Kosal is a 14-year-old student who is in the eighth grade. He lives with his parents and his older brother. His father is a taxi driver and his mother is a rice farmer. He enjoys school and particularly likes reading news and books about nature. He also loves playing soccer!
Six months ago, Kosal developed a chalazion, or an inflamed cyst in the tear gland, in his left eye. This causes him itchiness, irritation, and tearing and it is difficult for him to see clearly and study.
Kosal traveled for two hours with his mother to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On May 17th, surgeons will remove the cyst through a chalazion excision procedure. After recovery, Kosal’s symptoms should improve. Now, his family needs help raising $187 to fund this procedure.
Kosal shared, “I think that after this surgery, I will see better and I will be a better soccer player, so I can impress my friends.”
