Abdul is an adorable baby boy from Tanzania. The youngest in his family, his parents and brother love to take care of him and make sure he is provided for, but they cannot afford the treatment he needs to correct a congenital defect.
Abdul was born with bilateral clubfoot, which means both of his feet angle inwards, making it difficult for him to stand and walk. His concerned and loving older brother carries him around because he is unable to get around on his own. Of her son, his mother says, “I love him very much. My heart is filled with joy every time I look at him.” She hopes that one day, Abdul will be able to walk and grow up to be a successful, healthy man.
For $500, Abdul can receive corrective surgery, which should enable him to stand and walk without pain or difficulty. With treatment, Abdul will be able to grow up and lead a normal childhood.
