Patience is a 16-year-old expecting mother from Uganda. She lives with her mother, who works as a farmer, and her three younger siblings.
Patience has been suffering from severe anemia, typhoid, and malaria. Due to Patience’s age and her symptoms, her pregnancy is considered high-risk. On top of the $7 subsidized by Patience, our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting $241 to fund medical care for Patience and her developing baby. The treatment is scheduled to be administered starting on July 17, and it includes prenatal and antenatal visits, hospital stays, ultrasounds, and various medications.
At school, Patience particularly enjoyed studying mathematics and science. She hopes that she will eventually be able to go back to school after the baby is born.
“Thank you to all the donors for helping take care of my daughter. She has been so sick, and I was very worried. Hopefully, she will have a healthy baby,” says Patience’s mother.
