Bunnou is a 30-year-old technician from Cambodia. He is married and has two children—one daughter and one son. He likes going for walks with his daughter in his free time.
For the last year, Bunnou has experienced pain in his right hip. Two months ago, he began to experience the same pain in his left hip. A local clinic prescribed him steroids to take, but they had little effect on his condition. Currently, Bunnou’s pain is so great that he cannot walk without support or effectively do his work as a technician.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $781 to cover the cost of a hip replacement. This will treat Bunnou’s condition—bilateral avascular necrosis of the hip. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on April 25 at our medical partner’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. After the operation, Bunnou will be able to walk normally again.
