Woynet has supported her children on her own since her husband died 12 years ago. She has a farm, but recently she is struggling to make ends meet. “It breaks my heart to know that I’m the only one who can provide for my children and right now I cannot.”
Woynet’s life became substantially more difficult when she was diagnosed with skin cancer on her scalp. For the last year and a half, she has worn layers of bandages and scarves to cover a large, painful, and disfiguring tumor on the back of her head. She is smiling in the above photo because she is optimistic about her treatment and dreams of being able to provide for her family again.
For only $400, doctors at Africa Mission Healthcare Foundation can remove Woynet’s tumor and give her a chance at a healthy, comfortable life. They say with full disclosure that there is a chance that Woynet’s cancer has already spread, and this operation will be not 100% curative. However, the removal of the mass alone will dramatically improve her everyday life and allow her to focus on her children.
