Van is a 70-year-old man who has one son, four daughters, and ten grandchildren. He enjoys looking after his grandchildren and going to the pagoda for ceremonies. One year ago, Van developed a cataract in each eye, which caused him to have blurred vision, headaches, and cloudy vision. He now has a hard time seeing things clearly and can no longer go outside by himself safely.
Van was worried that his vision would continue to deteriorate, so he traveled for three hours with his son to visit our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC).
After small incision cataract surgery with an intraocular lens implant in each eye, Van will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $292 to fund this procedure, which will cover the costs of surgical equipment, medication, and physician consultations.
