Pyae is a 26-year-old husband and father from Burma. He works as a day-laborer, and he lives with his wife and two sons. In his free time, he enjoys driving.
In December 2022, Pyae was in a car accident where he broke his right upper arm. He was brought to a hospital in Burma for treatment, where his arm was placed in an external fixation device. When his arm did not heal well, the doctor recommended an amputation. He did not want to have his arm amputated, and visited another medical center for further evaluation.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), is helping Pyae receive further evaluation of his arm. Doctors at BCMF’s care center would like Pyae to undergo a CT scan, or a procedure in which x-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. On January 27th, he will have the CT scan, which will hopefully help doctors further diagnose his condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Now, Pyae needs help raising $414 to cover his scan and care.
Pyae shared, “I do not want to have my right arm amputated. I am hoping for a complete recovery so that I can use my arm again. I used to be a driver and I just want to be a driver again. After my treatment, I would love to work in different foreign countries so that I can make more money to support my family and pay back my debt.”
