Soem is a grandfather from Cambodia. He has seven children and fifteen grandchildren. His favorite thing to do is watch TV and visit the pagoda, especially for celebrations around the Buddhist holidays
One year ago, Soem developed a cataract in each eye, causing him blurry vision and a loss of independence. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Soem learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for five hours seeking treatment. On December 5, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
His son says, “I hope we can find a way to help my dad.”
