Knife is farmer from Malawi. Knife is a widower, and he lives with his son and they work a small farm. To help support the family, Knife also raises chickens. In his free time Knife likes to visit with his seven children and many grandchildren.
Since early October 2017, Knife has been experiencing pain and urinary difficulty. These symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. He needs to undergo a prostate resection surgery, a procedure in which surgeons will remove part of the enlarged gland.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund Knife’s surgery. On October 19, he will undergo prostate surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and two weeks of hospital stay. Knife was thrilled to find out his surgery would be funded, and he is already looking forward to planting his crops.
He says, “Soon I will be strong and well again!”
