Dorcus is a happy and curious four-year-old girl who loves to play. Dorcus’s mother has a small business selling vegetables, and she also does domestic chores for her neighbors.
Dorcus was born with an extra toe on her left foot, and her mother was scared to take her to the hospital for evaluation because she knew she couldn’t afford the treatment.
Dorcus’s mother then brought her to our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), for assistance. The amputation of Dorcus’s extra toe will allow her to wear shoes and live a more comfortable life, especially in school.
Her amputation is scheduled to take place on April 21, and AMHF is requesting $1,035 to cover the total cost of the procedure.
Dorcus’s mother says, “I am so very happy you are offering help. There is no way that I could do this alone. God bless everyone for helping my family.”
