Amirors is a nine-year-old student in grade one. She lives with her parents and four siblings in Cambodia, where her parents catch and sell fish at a community market.
Ever since she was a baby, Amirors has had a mass on her right ring finger. It has continued to grow over time and it now causes her pain when she tries to grab objects or hold a pencil in school. Her mother is concerned by the growth of the mass.
With help from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, Amirors will now receive treatment. On May 4th, surgeons at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will remove the mass. Amirors and her family need your help to raise $273 to fund this procedure.

Amirors underwent surgery on her hand.
Amirors and her parents traveled several hours to our medical partner Children’s Surgical Centre where the tumour was removed during a lengthy operation by surgeon specialists. After surgery, Amirors remained at the hospital overnight, then she was able to return home with her family. After the stitches are removed, she will start physiotherapy exercises to increase flexion and strengthen her grip. Her family is hopeful the tumour will not reappear, and she can use her hand normally.
Amirors said: “I am feeling thankful I was able to have this operation. I can hold things in my hand, and other kids won’t make fun of my finger any longer. Thank you to the people who took care of me.”
