Saly is a 38-year-old woman from Cambodia. Saly lives with her son and her parents. She divorced her husband ten years ago. She shared with us that she enjoys playing on her mobile phone when she has a little free time.
One year ago, Saly developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Saly learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled by tuk tuk with her mom seeking treatment. On October 12th, doctors will perform phacoemulsification (Phaco) and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Saly said, “I hope after surgery I can see clearly so I can do my work at home and take care of my son.”
