Gumisiriza is a four-year-old boy from Uganda. He is one of three siblings and lives with his mother, a farmer. He is attending preschool and enjoys his classmates.
Gumisiriza’s mother noticed a swelling in his right armpit and brought him in to see the doctor. It causes him great discomfort and makes it difficult to write in school. Gumisiriza has been diagnosed with an axilla fibroadema and surgery has been recommended to remove it.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $187 to fund Gumisiriza’s treatment. He is scheduled for surgery on October 19 at our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital, Nyakibale. After treatment, he will be able to learn, grow, and develop normally.
“I hope to continue with cultivation when my son is treated and have peace of mind as I care for him,” Gumisiriza’s mother says.
