Loeu is a 70-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has six children, six grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
One year ago, Loeu developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Loeu learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for five hours seeking treatment. On September 10, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
“I hope that I will no longer have to worry about my mother and that she will be able to see clearly and do things on her own again.” -Loeu’s Daughter
