Tukamuhebwa is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is married with two children, and both are still in both school.
Seven years ago, Tukamuhebwa began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty breathing and swallowing, discomfort, and disfigurement. She was diagnosed with a goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Tukamuhebwa receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on November 13 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Tukamuhebwa says, “I will continue with cultivation after surgery as I will be relieved of this condition and be in good comfort.”
