Roem is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married. He likes to listen to monks pray on the radio.
Three years ago, Roem developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurred vision and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Roem learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for one and a half hours seeking treatment. On August 7, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
His wife says, “I hope my husband’s vision is improved after the surgery.”
