“I am very grateful to God for my lovely daughter Everpatience,” shares Everpatience’s mother. “I pray that she gets well soon so that we can take her home.”
Everpatience is just a few days old, and is the youngest of three children. She lives with her family in Kenya.
Everpatience was born with spina bifida – a cystic mass on her lower back, which puts her at risk of developing an infection or tethered cord syndrome. If untreated, this can lead to more serious conditions such as scoliosis or kyphosis.
“Everpatience’s parents and siblings live in a two room house in their 1/8 acre piece of land,” shares our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). “Her father is a small-scale farmer while her mother works as a cook in a school where their other children are enrolled. The little income she gets from the school helps compliment what they get from farming.”
Everpatience’s family cannot afford the $805 needed for her spina bifida closure surgery.
A successful surgery will reduce the likelihood of Everpatience developing an infection or a more serious disease, and gives her a chance to grow up as a healthy and happy baby. Let’s help make it happen!
