Soriya is an 18-month-old girl from Cambodia. She has a brother and three sisters. She is the youngest sibling. She likes to play with toys at home.
Eight months ago, she was accidentally burned by a fire in the kitchen when her mother was cooking. Burn scar contractures have developed, tightening the skin around her burn. It is difficult for her to bend her fingers.
When Soriya’s family learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, they traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On July 18, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to to use her hand and fingers freely again. Now, her family needs help to fund this $448 procedure.
Her mother says, “I hope my daughter’s surgery is successful and she can freely bend her fingers.”
