Chorn is a 38-year-old rice farmer from rural Cambodia. One month ago, his grass cutter slipped and he cut his Achilles tendon. Chorn’s family rushed him to a local clinic, where he had surgery, but within a week his sutures broke due to swelling and the wound is still open.
Fortunately, doctors at Children’s Surgical Centre can operate on Chorn. They are confident that with proper treatment, Chorn will regain mobility in his leg and be relieved of pain.
Chorn has two children, ages 4 and 10, and his wife is 8 months pregnant with their third child. Since the accident, Chorn has been unable to work. He looks forward to getting treatment so he can return to work and earn an income for his family.
