Yeng is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He has two daughters and two grandchildren. He likes to watch boxing matches and concerts on TV. He also enjoys listening to monks pray on the radio.
Three years ago, Yeng developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry vision, itching, irritation, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yeng learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On August 1, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can see everything clearer than now so I can continue my work as farmer again.”
