Paskalina is a vibrant child who likes to clap her hands and wave hello. Her parents are small-scale farmers in Tanzania who are desperate to keep her healthy despite two serious medical conditions.
Paskalina was born with a malformed anus and bladder exstrophy, conditions that put her at risk of social ostracism and life-threatening infection.
For $1200, a preliminary treatment to create a colostomy (an opening to pass stool through the abdomen) and reconstruct Paskalina’s deformity will reduce the risk of infection and pave the way for Paskalina’s healthy development.
