Samuel is a 57-year-old man from Malawi. He lives with his wife, and together they have five kids and several grandchildren. Samuel is very active in his community, serving as a pastor for his Nazarene congregation, a farmer for his family, and a tailor in his village.
For the past two months, Samuel has been experiencing unusual urinary pain and frequency, limiting his ability to preach and work. It was discovered that Samuel has an enlarged prostate—medically termed benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Left untreated, BPH can lead to urinary tract infections, inability to urinate, urinary stones, and damage to the kidneys.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to help fund surgery to remove Samuel’s prostate. This procedure will help Samuel return to work, his family, and his church. His operation is scheduled for April 27.
“I have been struggling with this problem. This is a good program and I thank you, Watsi!” Samuel shares.
