Him is 48 years old. She is married and has three sons, six daughters, and three grandchildren. In her free time, she likes to go to the pagoda to join in ceremonies and listen to monks pray on the radio.
One year ago, Him developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, and headaches. Him has trouble seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and working on her own.
When Him learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours to seek treatment. On May 3, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, Him will be able to see clearly again. Now, she needs help to fund this $292 procedure.

Him underwent cataract surgery.
Her eye cataract was successfully removed from her left eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. She will return soon for the same surgery on her right eye.
Him says, “I feel very happy that I can see everything clearly again. I want to continue my work as a farmer and be able to go to the farm easily. I will now be able to go anywhere outside by myself.”
