Kimlong is an 11-year-old student from Cambodia. He lives with his parents and his older sister, and both of his parents are farmers. He shared that his sister was recently married. Kimlong is in the sixth grade at school. In his free time, he likes reading books, playing football with his friends, and watching nature shows on TV.
In May 2019, Kimlong fell out of a tree, causing his right elbow to dislocate. His father took him to a hospital, where doctors fixated hardware to heal his injury. His elbow healed well over time, and he feels no pain in his arm. However, now the hardware must be removed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On August 12th, Kimlong will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will allow his arm to fully heal and will reduce the risk that he will experience any infections and complications.
Kimlong said, “I hope that I can be as strong as before I was injured, and that I can improve my football skills when my arm is totally healed.”
