Yim is 62 years old and has two sons, three daughters, and six grandchildren. She likes to watch Khmer dramas on TV and visit relatives around her village in her free time.
Yim developed a cataract in each eye about one year ago, causing her blurred vision, burning, and photophobia (extreme sensitivity to light). It is difficult for her to see things clearly, recognize her relatives, do any type of work, and go anywhere outside.
Yim knew about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), because her sister had surgery there before. She traveled for two hours with her niece to reach CSC for treatment.
On March 28, Yim will undergo a small incision cataract surgery and intraocular lens implant in each eye, She needs help to fund this $292 procedure. After surgery, Yim will be able to see clearly again.
