Sambath is an outgoing three-year-old girl. She has one older brother and one older sister. Sambath’s parents sell soft drinks to earn a living for their family. Sambath enjoys playing with her siblings and painting with her dad.
One week ago her parents noticed she had lost some hearing ability. Sambath is also experiencing a fever and left ear itchiness. They brought her to our medical partner Children’s Surgical Centre hoping she could be helped. Surgeons will perform a myringotomy and grommet insertion to drain fluid from her left eardrum and heal her symptoms. Now her family needs help raising $137 to fund the treatment.
Sambath’s parents are hopeful that she will feel herself again and her hearing will be fully restored with surgery.

Sambath underwent surgery on her ear so she can hear clearly.
Sambath and her parents traveled to Children’s Surgical Centre for diagnosis and treatment. She was a brave girl during surgery and is now on the road to recovery. She was required to rest for several days, and her mom applied antibiotic drops to decrease the risk of further infection. Her hearing will now improve and her parents are thrilled she will have full life ahead.
Sambath’s mother said: “I am so grateful the surgeons were able to fix Sambath’s ear. She won’t have any more fever, and can soon go to school with her older brother and sister. Thank you for supporting her.”
